For our newest Alfa member interview, we sat down with Can Boyacı from Istanbul, Turkey. We talked about the need for streamlined and transparent data sharing in the logistics industry, the rewarding aspects of working in logistics, and his company’s focus on exceeding customers’ expectations.
How did you get started in the logistics industry and what has your journey been like so far?
My journey began with my university where I studied Maritime Administration for 4 years. I’ve been studying all aspects of Maritime Industry and Supply Chain, and practically I began to work in a Freight Forwarding company right after graduation.
My journey has been one of continuous learning and adaptation, navigating through technological advancements and global market shifts.
If there is one thing that you could change to the logistics industry, what would it be and why?
If given the opportunity, I would streamline communication and data sharing across the entire supply chain. Enhanced transparency and real-time information flow can mitigate disruptions and improve efficiency, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
What do you like most about the industry and your job in particular?
What I find most rewarding is the opportunity to solve complex puzzles daily. From coordinating shipments across borders to optimizing warehouse layouts, each day brings new challenges that require creative problem-solving and collaboration.
How do you set yourself apart from your competitors?

How do you relax in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my close friends, gathering around a table, travelling to new places, or playing basketball. These activities help me recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
